Melamine imbibed paper is made from a bleached wood pulp with at least 60% alpha cellulose content and pigmented in accordance with the desired level of color and opacity. The treated paper is soaked in aqueous melamine resin, and the dipping amount and paper volatile levels are controlled to achieve proper abrasion resistance and drying properties. The impregnated papers are then cured in a high-temperature and high-pressure curing oven to produce a product with superior abrasion and water resistance.
It is divided into three categories according to the functions: solid color paper, printing paper and wear-resistant paper(overlay paper). It is widely used in cabinet, wardrobe and laminate flooring veneer. Depending on the effect, it can be used to replace timber, particle board or MDF.
